Eight Port Vale fans were arrested after trouble broke out at the end of the match against Shrewsbury. Two officers were injured when Port Vale fans threw bricks at a police line outside the Vale Park ground on Hamil Road in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. Earlier, fans invaded the pitch at full time following Saturday's 1-1 draw. Staffordshire Police said there were no clashes with Shrewsbury supporters but an elderly woman caught up in the trouble was escorted to safety. The eight are due to be questioned by police later.
