The closing date for the questionnaire is 7 June

People living in Shepton Mallet are being asked their opinions on a number of proposed improvements.

Mendip District Council says the area around Market Place has suffered as more people are using the new shopping area further south of Townsend.

A council spokesman said regeneration of the town required a wide range of activities from marketing Shepton to making sure the town is kept clean.

Other suggestions include a visitor trail and a CCTV system.

'Traditional heart'

"The Market Place and its shops have suffered as Shepton Mallet's centre of gravity has shifted towards the new shopping developments further south.

"It still remains the traditional heart of the town and several strategies have considered how this role can be reinforced through a range of regeneration initiatives," the spokesman added.

The questionnaire can be found on the Mendip District Council website

Closing date for submissions is 7 June.
