A memorial has been built for Weston-super-Mare born BBC TV presenter Jill Dando.
The centre is part of the college's new University Campus
Weston College has named a sixth form building after the broadcaster, who was shot dead on the steps of her home in Fulham, west London, on 26 April 1999.
The Jill Dando Centre on Loxton Road includes biology, physics and chemistry laboratories, a computer suite and seminar rooms.
Barry George, 47, was jailed for life in July 2001 for Ms Dando's murder.
The new centre, opening in September, forms part of a multi-million pound campus housing departments of art and design, music technology and media production.
The campus will also be the home of degree courses which are delivered in partnership with Bath Spa University, Bath University and the University of the West of England.
Jill Dando started her career as a newspaper journalist on the Weston & Somerset Mercury.
She went on to present the BBC Six O'clock News, Breakfast News, Crimewatch and Holiday.
