Murder inquiry in nightclub death

Covered tram stop
Mr Munn was found on the street with serious head injuries

Police have started a murder inquiry after a 19-year-old Nottingham man died after being found unconscious outside a Nottingham nightspot on Sunday.

Liam Munn, of Nuthall, was discovered with head injuries outside Halo nightclub on Goldsmith Street just after 0300 GMT.

He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham but died several hours later.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of his head injuries.

Witness appeal

Four men who were arrested by police have been interviewed and released on police bail. A fifth man remains in remains in police custody.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in Halo nightclub on Saturday night, or who has any information about Mr Munn's death.

Det Ch Insp Tony Webster said: "We have a number of positive lines of enquiry, however it is still imperative we speak to anyone who was either in the Halo nightclub on Saturday night or on Goldsmith Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

"I would ask people to cast their minds back to see if they remember witnessing an incident outside the nightclub at around 3am on Sunday".
