Pauline Cresswell
Ms Creswell's children were away at the time of the incident
A woman had to be rescued from her Nottingham home after a lit firework was pushed through her door.

Firefighters pulled Pauline Cresswell, 45, from the house in New Basford at about 2340 GMT on Sunday.

Ms Cresswell, who was treated at the Queen's Medical Centre for smoke inhalation overnight, said she had been upset and shaken by the incident.

Police confirmed they were investigating an offence of criminal damage. No arrests have been made.

Ms Cresswell, whose children were staying with their grandmother at the time of the incident, said: "It's really upset me.

"I don't want to be in this area and I don't want to be in this home at the moment."

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
