New jury chosen in Danielle trial

A new jury has been sworn in at the trial of two men charged with the murder of teenager Danielle Beccan.

High Court Judge Mr Justice Butterfield earlier dismissed the original jury at Birmingham Crown Court, but gave no explanation for the move.

Danielle, 14, was fatally shot early on 9 October 2004 as she walked home from a funfair in Nottingham.

Mark Kelly, 20, of the Meadows, Nottingham, and Junior Andrews, 23, of no fixed address, deny the charges.

The original jurors were told the reason for their dismissal was "nothing to do with the prosecution, the defendants or the defence".

The court has started hearing evidence again in the case.
