Police on Merseyside have increased the reward for information which convicts the killers of a woman whose home was set alight.

Lucy Hargreaves, 22, was shot by three men who broke into her home in Walton, Liverpool, in August 2005, and then started a fire.

Her partner Gary Campbell jumped from a first-floor window with their daughter.

A previous reward of £10,000 has been increased to £25,000 for information on the murder which leads to a conviction.

Ms Hargreaves, a mother of three, was on the sofa downstairs when the men got into her Lambourne Road home.

They shot her before pouring petrol around the living room and setting it on fire.

Ms Hargreaves' mother Sylvia and her father Kenny said: "It's inhuman what these men did and we want to appeal to anyone who knows anything to speak to the police.

"They have robbed Lucy's children of their mother and us of a beautiful daughter - it's a life sentence for all of us."

Detectives are still looking for Kevin Thomas Parle, 28, who they want to speak to in connection with the murder of Ms Hargreaves.

They also want to question him about the death of 16-year-old Liam Kelly, who was shot in Dingle in 2004.

They believe Mr Parle was in the Torrevieja area of the Costa Blanca in Spain in autumn 2005. There are two European arrest warrants out for him in relation to the two murders.

Det Supt Ian Mulcahey, of Mersesyide Police, said: "We want to find justice for Lucy and her family - Lucy was an innocent victim and our investigations into her death are relentless.

"I would hope the passing of time will enable people to search their consciences and find the courage to come forward and tell us what they know. Any new information we are given will be acted upon."
