Woman dies in double bike crash

A female cyclist has died and her husband has been seriously injured in a road accident in Cheshire.

A Range Rover Sport was in collision with the couple on the A50 Kingsway in Warrington on Saturday morning, before crashing into another car.

Cheshire Police said the cyclist, a 42-year-old local woman, and her 46-year-old husband were taken to hospital, where she later died.

A woman has been arrested. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.

The accident happened at about 1050 BST near the junction with Farrell Street.
