Schoolboy robbed in street attack

A 13-year-old boy was robbed in the street in Liverpool by a man who punched him to the ground.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery at Eaton Road in West Derby, at lunchtime on Wednesday.

The boy was approached by the man who punched him in the back of the head causing him to fall to the ground.

The robber then stole the teenager's mobile phone and some money before running off towards Alder Hey Hospital, police said.

The offender is described as white, aged about 18 and was stocky.

He spoke with a local accent and had a deep voice. He was wearing dark clothing.
