A 19-year-old man has been stabbed to death at a party in Liverpool.

Merseyside police said the man was one of about 20 people at a gathering at a house in the Garston area of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Three men went into the house at Seddon Road and one of them stabbed the 19-year-old. He collapsed and was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

Police said house-to-house inquiries were under way and that they had been speaking to those at the party.

Forensic examinations

The house where the stabbing took place has been sealed off while forensic examinations were being carried out.

A police spokeswoman said the men went into the house at about 0310 GMT.

One of them carried out the attack, before leaving with the others.
