Showroom shooting victim is named
A man who was killed in a double shooting at a vehicle showroom in Merseyside has been identified.

James Stanton, 58, from Thornton, was shot in the head at the van sales firm where he worked on Ormskirk Road, Aintree, on Monday evening.

The father-of-four was taken to hospital but died of his injuries about five hours later.

A 30-year-old man was also shot in the back and hand - his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident, which happened opposite the entrance to Aintree race course at about 1800 BST.
