Pensioner rescued from mountain
The trio became stranded as darkness fell
A 74-year-old Wirral woman has been airlifted off Snowdon, after her dog fell hundreds of feet to its death.

The woman - who has not been named - was among three walkers rescued from the mountain in north Wales.

They had become stranded in the dark on Friday night on Glaslyn with no lights and made a 999 call using a mobile phone.

Llanberis mountain rescue team were alerted but the trio were flown to safety by a rescue helicopter from RAF Valley in Anglesey.

The walkers - who also included a man and a Californian woman - were all unharmed.
