Gangland leader 'bled to death'

Manchester gangland boss Desmond Noonan bled to death after he was stabbed, the inquest into his death has heard.

The 46-year-old's body was found outside a house on Merseybank Avenue in the Chorlton area of Manchester on Friday, 18 March.

He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

The inquest at Manchester Coroner's Court was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Derek McDuffus, 41, from south Manchester, is charged with his murder.

Shajahan Cooke, 39, from Chorlton, has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Both have been remanded in custody and are awaiting trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Mr Noonan's funeral will take place on Friday.
