Five bailed in multiple shooting

Five people arrested after five teenagers suffered gunshot wounds and another was stabbed in north London have been released on police bail.

The shootings happened on Friday in the Cornwall Road, West Green Road and Phillip Lane areas of south Tottenham.

None of the victims, who are aged between 16 and 19, had life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said a shooting broke out after a teenager was stabbed in Cornwall Road.

They said the stabbing victim, aged 18, had become involved in a dispute with a large group.

Following this incident shots were fired and five youths received gunshot wounds. One of those shot was arrested after being discharged from hospital.

The Met said officers from Operation Trident, which investigates gun crime in the black community, were leading the investigation into the incident.

The force appealed for witnesses to get in contact.
