Woman hurt in row over cigarette

A woman was injured during a row with two young boys when she refused to give them a cigarette.

The woman, in her 50s, was confronted by the youngsters, thought to be about 10-years-old, outside Selhurst railway station in south London on Wednesday.

One boy tried to grab a lit cigarette from her mouth and attacked her when she shouted back at the pair.

Police said the woman was taken to hospital with a cut to her arm and discharged the same day.

Officers are studying CCTV from the station and have taken statements from witnesses about the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the boys have been described as black and about 10 years old.
