Man, 19, critical after stabbing

Police believe the teenager was stabbed during a fight

A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in east London.

Officers were called after a man collapsed at East Ham underground station at about 2125 BST.

Following a search of the area another 19-year-old man was found suffering from head injuries in nearby Burgess Road. He was later arrested.

Metropolitan Police officers believe the two men were involved in a fight in a street near the station.

The 19-year-old who suffered stab wounds is said to be in a critical but stable condition in an east London hospital.

The other man remains in hospital but has been arrested.

Officers have asked anyone with information to contact them.
