Reward of £40,000 in shop murder
Jamie Simpson
Jamie Simpson, 33, had "a great future ahead of him"
A reward of £40,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the killer of east London shop manager Jamie Simpson, 33.

He was stabbed in the neck as he cashed up at the Matalan store in Kingsland Shopping Centre, Hackney, on Saturday.

The reward has been offered by Matalan, which described Mr Simpson as a "very talented and highly rated" employee.

Images of the suspects were taken by CCTV inside the centre. No-one has been arrested in connection with the murder.

'Lay in wait'

Mr Simpson, of Herne Hill, south London, had worked at the shop for the past three years.

Detectives believe three men "lay in wait" before confronting him as he counted the takings in the cash office on Saturday night.

Post-mortem tests showed Mr Simpson died of a stab wound to the neck.

The attackers are believed to have run from the store via a rear car park in Dalston Lane.

Matalan offered the reward on Tuesday to help police solve the "terrible and violent crime".

Chief executive Alistair McGeorge said Mr Simpson had "a great future ahead of him" at the store.

"He will be greatly missed within the business," Mr McGeorge said.

Officers have appealed for information on anyone in the shopping centre who was seen "acting suspiciously" in the evening or witnessed the assailants fleeing the scene through the car park.
