Children stopped 'carrying drugs'
A Mexican woman and two children are being questioned by Heathrow customs officers after drugs were found strapped to the legs of two children.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) said 33lbs (15 kgs) of cocaine were found on two youngsters searched by officers at the west London airport on Wednesday.

According to HMRC the drugs had a street value of £675,000.

The children being held, a girl, 11 and a boy, 13, had arrived with a woman on a flight from Mexico City.

Customs officers at Heathrow's Terminal 4 stopped the woman and children after they arrived on a British Airways flight.

The three were stopped and questioned by officers who discovered the drugs when they searched the passengers and their baggage.

Bob Gaiger, HM Revenue & Customs spokesman at Heathrow said: "HM Revenue & Customs is working at the forefront of the fight to stop drugs entering the UK and to reduce the associated harm to our communities.

"We aim to protect society from this activity wherever we detect it."
