Man bailed after fight stabbings
Crime scene
Locals say there are regular fights in the area
An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing of two teenagers has been bailed.

Police were called to a disturbance outside Walker House, Polygon Road, Euston, on Tuesday afternoon, where the two 17-year-old victims were found.

Both men are being treated in hospital, where one is in a stable condition and the other is said to be "comfortable".

The 18-year-old was held in custody for questioning overnight and released on bail on Wednesday morning.

Det Sgt Alexander Castle said: "We know there were a number of people in the area at the time of incident.

"We ask anyone who has not yet spoken to police to come forward and assist the inquiry."

A 16-year-old said she saw the stabbing from nearby Chalton Street.

'Regular fighting'

The girl, who did not want to be named, said she thought there were about five or six youngsters gathered but only two of them were fighting.

"It looked like one was punching the other one," she said. "I only realised that someone had been stabbed when I saw the blood."

Saad Hassan, a local shop owner, said he heard a lot of noise at the time.

"Problems are happening around here," he said. "Once a week there is a fight around here - it is very regular."
