The world egg throwing championships have taken place as part of a Lincolnshire village festival.
The competition was hosted by Swaton's Vintage Day as organisers laid claim to it being the first official event of its kind.
The aim is for a team of two to throw and catch the egg without breaking it over the longest distance.
Teams from as far afield as Russia, India, Portugal and Bulgaria have taken part.
The event's president, Andy Dunlop, said he invited John Prescott to open the competition: "We got a letter saying that unfortunately he had other plans.
"But we are extending the invitation to next year as he has experience with improper egg throwing."
The world record egg throw was established in 1978 Texas, when Johnny Dell Foley from Texas threw a fresh egg 323ft 2ins (98.51m) to his cousin Keith Thomas.
