Protest over planned phone mast
About 800 people have signed a petition against plans to erect a mobile phone mast in a Leicestershire village.

Hutchison 3G wants to put up a 15-metre mast in Leicester Road in Quorn. It claims it will have low-power output and will not be close to homes.

Campaigners say they have health concerns about the safety of masts.

They also say the mast will be unsightly as people enter the village. The proposals have been submitted to Charnwood Borough Council.

Resident Joan Davies, who has helped lead the campaign against the mast, said the company should look elsewhere to site it.
