A man who died after a crash while being pursued by police has been named.

Antonio Lloyd Clarence Skerritt 25, known to family and friends as Tuffis, was in a vehicle that left the A426 between Lutterworth and Leicester.

The vehicle had been pursued by police in the early hours of 26 September. Mr Skerritt was declared dead at the rural scene in the south of the county.

Two other men in the car were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and later arrested.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission launched an investigation into the collision.

The grey Honda Civic, which Mr Skerritt was travelling in, has been heading north towards Leicester before it left the road and ended up in a ditch.

Leicestershire Police said the car was the subject of a 'controlled police pursuit' at the time of the incident.
