Detectives in Lancashire have stepped up their hunt for a child sex attacker by stopping motorists and local people to show them an e-fit of the suspect.

Officers have been on the streets of Fleetwood trying to piece together details about the abduction and sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl.

She was grabbed outside a sweet shop on Martindale Avenue on 9 May at 1320 BST and driven to land near Rossall Lane.

Police said they had already received some valuable information.

Det Sup Kevin Toole, from Lancashire Police, said: "I can't begin to describe the bravery shown by this young girl in putting this e-fit together and I would ask people, for her sake, to have a look at the image see if you recognise the man.

"We are in a position to quickly rule people out so please contact us with any suspicions.

"The Chatsworth area of Fleetwood is a close knit community and I want to thank them for the information that they have provided us with already.

"I would also like to reassure them that we have a large team of experienced police officers and support staff working on this case and every single one of us is determined to catch this man."
