Festive warning over rogue cabs
Revellers are being warned about the dangers of using unlicensed cabs over the Christmas and New Year period.

Thanet District Council's Licensing team are urging everyone to check that a driver's badge is being displayed.

It is stressing the badge is a legal requirement, and should show the driver's photo, number and expiry date.

Cllr Ingrid Spencer said: "If there's no badge displayed, then the message we want to give local people is not to take the risk. It's not worth it."

The badges indicate that a driver is properly licensed and that a series of background checks have been carried out, including police checks.
