Man remanded in sex grooming case

A man has been remanded in custody charged with abduction and grooming a child for sex after he went missing with a teenager he met on the internet.

Tony Jones, 39, appeared at Beverley Magistrates' Court in East Yorkshire charged with two offences of meeting a girl under 16 after sexual grooming.

He is also charged with child abduction with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Mr Jones, of Fourth Walk, Canvey Island, Essex, will appear in court again on 9 December.

The 15-year-old girl went missing from her home in Willerby, East Yorkshire, on Monday and was found safe and well in Clacton, Essex, on Wednesday.
