Four people were injured after a bus crashed when a youth grabbed the steering wheel, police said.
The Stagecoach double-decker collided with a tree on Holderness Road, Hull on Monday morning.
Three passengers and the driver suffered minor injuries in the incident. The bus was left severely damaged, Humberside Police said.
A 16-year-old boy was later arrested on suspicion of causing danger to other road users.
A Stagecoach spokesman said the vehicle was so badly damaged it would probably have to be written off.
"There were a number of passengers on board but fortunately no-one was seriously hurt, " he said.
