Man rescued as narrow boat sinks
A man has been taken to hospital with hypothermia after his narrow boat sank.

The man was rescued from the River Severn by fire crews using a boat at the Kempsey Marina in Callow End, Worcestershire, during Monday evening.

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue said the man had been bailing out his boat when they arrived.

"He was suffering from some form of hyperthermia so we took him upstream to the marina where he was treated," he said.

"We then went back to the boat and searched it to make sure no-one else was on board," he added.

"The boat was sinking and as our crews got off it sunk."

Marker buoys have been placed on the River Severn to mark where the boat is.
