Police identify burnt-out car man

Police believe they have identified a man who was found dead near a burnt-out car in Hampshire.

Firefighters were called early on Friday to reports of a burning Rover in a layby on the A31 in Alton, between Upper Froyle and Gid Lane.

Officers believe the deceased man is Graham Peacock, 48, from Bournemouth, Dorset, although formal identification has yet to be completed.

Police said they were not looking for anyone in connection with the death.

Mr Peacock's family have been informed. Results from a post-mortem examination are yet to be released.
