Wife pays tribute to dead husband
The wife of a man who died after being swept out to sea by a freak wave has paid tribute to him.

Nicholas Woodman from Kemerton was fishing off the Isle of Skye when he fell into the sea on Monday night.

The 52-year-old was recovered by a coastguard team but pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

The father-of-three had been enjoying his first fishing trip for a number of years. His widow, Judy, 50, said their family had been left "devastated".

He was an extremely popular, thoughtful and very good person

She also said her husband and his friends had taken lifejackets with them, but had not put them on because weather conditions appeared calm.

"Nick was extremely honest - he never had any airs and graces," Mrs Woodman said.

"He was an extremely popular, thoughtful and very good person.

"I know a lot of people are going to miss him."

Mr Woodman, a carpenter and garden centre worker, was fishing off the northern most point of Skye when he was swept away.
