Man, 34, is charged with murder

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body in a flat in Essex on Friday.

Liam Leahy, 56, was found dead at his home in Military Road, Colchester, and a post-mortem examination revealed he died of head, neck and facial injuries.

Michael Leahy, 34, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder and is expected to appear before Colchester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A 33-year-old woman arrested on Friday has been released without charge.
