Overnight queue for Cup tickets
Fan with ticket
The long wait was worthwhile for this Colchester fan
Hundreds of football fans queued through a cold, wet night on Tuesday to buy tickets for Colchester United's big FA Cup game away to Chelsea.

The last 1,200 tickets sold out within two hours on Wednesday morning leaving many hopefuls disappointed.

Colchester United Football Club said it was unlikely to get any more tickets for the fifth round tie on Sunday.

But more than 6,000 fans will be cheering on the side in their bid to cause a cup upset.

Colchester United FC chief executive Marie Partner said things have been somewhat manic.

"It was very difficult. We didn't know until the very last minute how many tickets we would be left with for today but I do admire those people who camped outside."

She said fans who did manage to get tickets were "absolutely over the moon".
