Climber rescued after cliff fall in Dorset

A climber had to be airlifted from cliffs in Dorset after falling and breaking his leg.

Portland Coastguard were called to Anvil Point near Swanage on Monday at 1705 BST after the climber's companion dialled 999.

Portland Coastguard helicopter and both Swanage and St Albans Cliff rescue teams went to the scene.

The man was winched into the helicopter and taken to Whitecliff, Poole, before being transferred to Poole Hospital.
