Christmas waste recycling urged
Residents in Dorset have been urged to have a green Christmas and recycle their festive rubbish.

Wrapping paper, glass, cans and tins can all be recycled by people who receive West Dorset District Council's kerbside collection service.

Council chairman Mary Penfold, said: "We all tend to produce a lot more rubbish at Christmas.

"If you are having a Christmas party try to avoid disposable products like cups and plates."

Christmas trees can be recycled at the council's household recycling centres.

Also, old household batteries can be saved for a new battery recycling service, which is due to start next spring.
