Festival to promote county's food
A week-long festival is being planned to promote a county's finest cuisine.

The event in Derbyshire follows the success of its annual Food and Drink Fair and will take place from 14 May.

Retailers, bed and breakfasts, cafés, pubs, farms and visitor attractions will host events, including tastings and open days.

Derbyshire County Council hopes its event will boost food and drink businesses and encourage tourists to visit the county.

Council tourism officer Kate Richardson said: "We're hoping to offer a week of exceptional events and give a platform to a wide variety of producers and suppliers of local food and drink to celebrate and promote their goods.

"As a nation we are becoming more interested in the quality of the food and drink that we consume and the festival and fair give people a chance to find out more in a fun, relaxing environment."
