Doctor jailed for secret filming
Dr Kevin O'Sullivan
Dr Kevin O'Sullivan was sentenced to a year in jail
A GP who hid a secret camera to capture footage of children undressing has been jailed for 12 months.

Dr Kevin O'Sullivan, 39, who worked at Jessop Medical Practice in Riddings, Derbyshire, admitted making the video.

Chesterfield Magistrates' Court was told he was also found with almost 200 pornographic pictures of children stored on home computers.

He claimed the images of the children were part of an academic investigation into voyeurism.

Changing area

During raids on the father-of-two's home in Bakewell, Derbyshire, police seized the footage and 49 glass phials of heroin taken from the homes of deceased patients.

Sentencing O'Sullivan, District Judge John Friel said his crime "represented a quite chilling invasion of privacy".

The court heard that O'Sullivan, who was suspended from duties following his arrest, had installed a miniature camera in Bakewell swimming pool, training the lens on a designated family changing area.

It relayed images to a recording device stored in a sports bag, which was discovered by leisure centre staff in June 2003 and found to contain a three-minute long video of a family undressing.

O'Sullivan earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of taking indecent photographs of children, a count of possessing indecent images of children and possessing diamorphine.
