Final approval for Nuneaton academy school

Plans to open an academy school in Warwickshire have been given final approval by the government after a public consultation.

The academy in Nuneaton, which is to open in September, will initially be based in existing buildings across Alderman Smith and Manor Park schools.

A new school will later be built on the old Alderman Smith site and is expected to be completed by September 2013.

North Warwickshire and Hinckley College will sponsor the academy.
