Detectives investigating a fire that claimed the lives of four firefighters have made three further arrests.

Warwickshire Police said the three arrested are men aged 42, 52 and 54 and from the south of the county.

They are being questioned on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

The firefighters died tackling a blaze at a packing plant at Atherstone-on-Stour in 2007.

Three fire service staff, who were arrested in February in connection with the fire, remain on police bail pending further inquiries.

They were also questioned on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

The four firemen who died were Ian Reid, Darren Yates-Badley, Ashley Stephens and John Averis, and were from Warwickshire.
