Paramedics used lassoes to round up a truckload of pigs running loose on a motorway after they escaped from a lorry involved in a road crash.
The pigs were rounded up on the hard shoulder of the M6
Motorists stuck on the M6 took photos of the scene as the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) crew attempted to haul in the animals.
The pigs escaped on the southbound carriageway of the motorway near Rugby, Warwickshire, on Monday.
"I never thought I'd be part of a pig rodeo," said pilot Neil Parkinson.
"This was probably our weirdest job ever, running around in the middle of the motorway, desperately trying to capture a truckload of squealing, scared pigs."
A WNAA spokeswoman said its crew had already been called to an earlier accident on the northbound carriageway.
As they circled above, a land ambulance crew told them they were no longer needed but they then received a call to the nearby accident involving the pigs.
