Clay festival road signs vanish

The festival celebrates the Clay Country's traditions and culture

Organisers of the Rescorla Festival in Cornwall say they are determined to continue with the event despite road signs to it disappearing.

The festival, which is being held at the village of the same name from 27 to 29 June, is a celebration of the county's Clay Country.

However, signs guiding visitors along narrow lanes to the village near St Austell have gone missing.

Organisers said they did not understand why such thefts were being carried out.

They added they hoped it would not affect the festival's attendance.

The festival, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, is an annual event showcasing the customs and traditions of the Clay Country.

Events being held at the festival include walks, music, talks, dance and art displays.
