Cash for new 3m cricket centre
A multi-million pound indoor cricket centre is to be built in Cornwall to help raise playing standards.

The English Cricket Board (ECB) wants to produce more players good enough to be professionals, and to encourage local clubs.

The 3m centre will be built at Truro College, if Carrick District Council gives planning approval.

The ECB's is investing 30m across England and Wales as part of its five-year strategy.

Sean Hooper, director of the cricket academy at Truro College, said he was delighted as cricketers currently have to share training facilities with other sports.
