People with mental health needs in Devon need much better support services, according to a new report.

The independent investigation for Devon County Council concentrated on adults under 65 living within communities rather than institutions.

Improvement recommendations included a dedicated 24-hour phone line.

The report also suggested out-of-hours mental health specialist access and the establishment of places of "safety" for assessment and respite care.
