The deadline for submitting ideas is 15 October
Budding film-makers in Cornwall are being offered the chance to pitch their ideas for short films at this year's Cornwall Film Festival.

The live pitching event will give short-listed applicants the chance to present their ideas to a panel of industry professionals.

The winner will get a production award of 5,000 to help make their film.

The festival, which is now in its third year, takes place in Falmouth from 12-14 November.

In addition to the 5,000 prize, the winner will receive a week's camera and sound equipment hire, a week's editing hire, a day in a recording studio and free archive footage from the South West Screen and Television Archive.

Applicants must be either living in Cornwall or the film must have strong Cornish content.

The deadline for submitting ideas is 15 October .
