Whole street goes on the market
Balmoral Place, Halifax
Mr Ashworth purchased the last house in the street 15 years ago
A whole street in Halifax has been put up for sale with an estimated price tag of 2.5m.

There are 21 houses on Balmoral Place where Robin Ashworth has purchased and restored the properties over the last 40 years.

Now he is retiring and has put the street he used to walk along on his way to school on the market.

The sale has been described as an "excellent investment opportunity" by estate agents.

It's like being parted from a member of the family
Street owner Robin Ashworth
Property developer Mr Ashworth said it had been a life ambition to buy all the houses.

"The earliest I can remember this street is when I used to come here to and from school.

"I think even in those days I was impressed by the houses and then the opportunity came to buy one and having started it just gathered pace.

"Each time one came up for sale I just had to buy it."

Having renovated the houses, even giving them matching front doors, Mr Ashworth said the sale will be hard for him.

"It's like being parted from a member of the family," he said.

"It's taken a while to reach the decision but eventually the lure of going into retirement became to tempting and I think I am prepared to let it go now."
