Credit union awarded lottery cash

A Berkshire credit union has been awarded 52,000 from the National Lottery to help it relocate to a new town centre building.

Last month, Reading Credit Union applied for a share of 5.5m from the People's Millions Big Lottery Fund.

The savings charity, which asked residents to nominate it for the cash boost, hopes to relocate next spring.

The scheme awards up to 50,000 to 89 organisations to improve the quality of life within communities.
