'Even bigger' Gay Pride next year

Thousands of people turned out to Sunday's event
Organisers of Berkshire's first gay pride festival say they are looking to run an even bigger event next year.

Sunday's free council-backed event saw a host of bands, performers, club nights and market stalls at King's Meadow in Reading.

Four gay couples also took part in special commitment ceremonies - similar to weddings - as part of the festival.

Entertainments manager Jamie Wake called the event "a roaring success", that they want to repeat in 2005.
