A landmark lighthouse off the Sussex coast could have its light and fog horn permanently switched off.
The organisation in charge of England's coastal navigation aids is considering switching off the light and fog horn at Beachy Head because it says modern navigation equipment has made the lighthouse less important for negotiating the coast.
Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Nigel Waterson says the lighthouse should be kept in use.
