Man denies mother-in-law murder

A man has pleaded not guilty to murdering his mother-in-law whose body was found after a fire at her bungalow.

Mohammed Soboh, 41, of New England Road, Brighton, denied killing Pauline Knowles-Samarraie in Grand Crescent, Rottingdean, East Sussex, in April.

A post-mortem examination showed Mrs Knowles-Samarraie, originally from Halifax in West Yorkshire, had died from head injuries.

Mr Soboh was remanded in custody until 7 December by Lewes Crown Court.
