Mother searches for missing son
Andrew Gosden
Andrew took 200 from his bank before disappearing
The mother of a gifted teenager from South Yorkshire who went missing two weeks ago is in London appealing for help in finding him.

Andrew Gosden, 14, disappeared on 14 September after failing to turn up at his school in Doncaster.

The teenager was seen heading to London by train and there have been sightings of him in parts of the city including Waterloo and Oxford Street.

His mother Glenys said the family was baffled by his disappearance.

She and Andrew's sister Charlotte, 16, have been putting up posters around the attractions in London which he knew.

The youngster, who is a member of a school programme involving the most academically gifted 5% of pupils, took more than 200 from his bank account before vanishing.

Mrs Gosden, 43, said Andrew knows London as they have relatives in the city and visit regularly.

"We are fairly sure he has come to London because it is one of his favourite places," she said.

"He is the kind of boy who likes museums and science and maths things."

Appealing for him to get in touch, she said: "If there is anything troubling you that we don't know about, it is not too big that we can't sort it out.

"Please come home. Pick up a phone, give us a ring. Please get in touch."

Andrew is described as 5ft 3in, slim, with straight brown hair. He is believed to be wearing a black top, black jeans, trainers and was carrying a black bag with patches of rock bands on.
