CCTV set-up by 'besieged' couple

The couple say youths threw a can into the garden and at the house
A couple in Swindon who say they are plagued by vandals have set up a CCTV camera to catch them in the act.

Val Hearn and Ray Millen say they have already captured two youths on film throwing a can at their house, causing 1,000 worth of damage.

They plan to hand the tape to the police and say they want to publicise the damage that was done.

Police officers have told the BBC they are already investigating several complaints in the area.

More patrols

Mr Millen said: "I think what is mine should be mine.

"If it belongs to you I won't touch it and I believe people should act the same in regard to me."

The camera caught two youths walking by the house, one of whom threw a spray paint can into the front garden.

The youth then retrieves the can - before it is thrown at the front door.

Police say they are stepping up patrols.
