Gravestones
Headstones were knocked over at the cemetery
An operation to clean up a cemetery and crematorium damaged by vandals in Greater Manchester has started.

About 50 headstones were damaged by vandals at Dukinfield Cemetery, Tameside on Monday.

Flowers and vases were strewn over the grounds and the windows in the waiting room were smashed.

Tameside Council officials said they were shocked and devastated by the attack.

Senior registrar Mike Guerney said additional security might be installed to prevent future attacks

A 1,000 reward is being offered in an attempt to catch the culprits.
